Bodo Tribe
Geographical Location Bodo,group of people speaking Tibeto-Burman language in the northeastern Indian states of Assam and Meghalaya and in Bangladesh. The Bodo are the largest minority group in Assam and are concentrated in the northern areas of the Brahmaputra River Valley. Culture Rice farming, tea plantation, pig and poultry farming and silkworms rearing is th major occupation of Bodo tribe. They have also developed in the years the art of craftsmanship by creating several products from bamboo. Weaving is also the popular occupation among Bodos. Lifestyle Gamsa-Gamsa is the traditional dress bodo and is used to cover the portion from waist to knee by tying it in the waist.
