Bodo Tribe

Geographical Location 
Bodo,group of people speaking Tibeto-Burman language in the northeastern Indian states of Assam and Meghalaya and in Bangladesh. The Bodo are the largest minority group in Assam and are concentrated in the northern areas of the Brahmaputra River Valley. 
Culture 

Rice farming, tea plantation, pig and poultry farming and silkworms rearing is th major occupation  of Bodo tribe. They have also developed in the years the art of craftsmanship by creating several products from bamboo. Weaving is also the popular occupation among Bodos.

Lifestyle 

Gamsa-Gamsa is the traditional dress bodo and is used to cover the portion from waist to knee by tying it in the waist. It is weaved in different colors like green, slight red, and a mixture of different colorus like- White and blue, White and green and many more.
The Bagurumba is the traditional dance of bodo people living in the state of Assam and North-east India. 
The Bodo tribe is fond of non vegetarian dishes like pork, chicken, mutton, fishes etc. Along with the leafy green vegetables. 
The Bodo folksongs are mostly the musical presentation of Bodo lyrical poetries. These lyrical poetries include songs, prayers, hero-ship, tantra-mantras.
Bodos celebrates Bwisagu. It is the most popular season festival celebrated by Bodos of Assam. Bawisagu means start of a new year.

This religion is centred around the worship of Bathoubwrai or Sibwrai. i.e.the supreme god of bodos.
Government Support 

The Indian Central Government has sanctioned 1500 crore as a special development package for Bodos areas development. This treaty has promised to pay 5 lakh to the families of deceased who participated in the bodo movement.
